These pieces were commissioned as trophies for a new category of award at the yearly South Australian Bay to Birdwood rally. The category is Electric Vehicle Conversion of an Historic Car and it will be presented each year for 20 years, with the first winner be awarded in 2022.

The large trophy will become part of the National Motor Museum's collection, with the winner’s name added to the plaque each year. And the winner will take home their own smaller trophy.

The concept for the trophies are based around the iconic South Australian Stobie pole and the ceramic insulators that sit atop them.
