Tethered is a body of work that explores the invisible force of gravity. The extruded forms capture and celebrate the intrinsic force that tethers us to earth.

Dropped from a height, each piece is formed through its impact with the ground. The pieces’ folds and contours are a direct expression of the clay’s transmutability when gravity is acted upon it.

The surfaces exhibit varying states of decay, referencing the continuous cycle of life. Being born, extracted, extruded into the world only to weather, decay and return back to the earth from which it came.
